Biophilia
As a result of lockdown and the forced distancing from nature we’ve been suffering, it’s become obvious that humans have a strong necessity to be in contact with it. But where does this necessity come from? According to American biologist Edward O.Wilson it is an innate condition that all human beings have and he scientifically argues about it in his book BIOPHILIA (1984).
With this book as a starting point, we wanted to delve into this powerful and primary bond hand in hand with eight artists who have approached it, one way or another, globally. A work that, in homage to Wilson’s, we called BIOPHILIA as well and turns into an impeccable digital publication that you can download for free in the Special issues section of our website.
With BIOPHILIA we wanted to spark a debate and expose how necessary it is for humankind to re-establish a strong and honest bond with the natural environment they belong to.
